18TH & GRAND PRESENTS NO SPECTATORS!: MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY FROM THE OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM
For eighty years, the Olympic Auditorium attracted brave, visionary photographers to document the mayhem. People from all over the city entered the cavernous arena at the corner of 18th Street and Grand Avenue to witness, and often participate in the action. In “No Spectators,” a new exhibition at the REEF gallery in downtown Los Angeles opening June 13, 2026, music is the focus. From Bob Willoughby’s groundbreaking images of L.A.’s 1950s rhythm and blues scene to iconic punk rock photos shot by Edward Colver, Ann Summa, Alison Braun and Robbie Robinson (who took this amazing image) to vivid color shots of Fela Kuti by Kurt Mahoney, the works on display explode with intensity. Entrance to opening is free but you must RSVP: https://tickets.sho-soft.io/t/980abc27-d6ac-4b7d-b666-1393351e0c5b
